About the book:
The moment seventeen-year-old Samantha Thompson crawls out of her grave, her second chance at life begins. She died of cancer with her long-time boyfriend, Ethan, by her side–a completely unfair shot at life.
But Ethan found a way to bring her back, like he promised he would. Only Sam came back wrong.
She’s now a monster that drains others’ lives to survive. And after she kills, she’s tortured by visions—glimpses into her victims would-have-been futures had she not killed them. Barely able to live with herself and trying to make things right, Sam ends up a pawn in a vicious game of payback within the local coven of witches.
But when the game reveals what Ethan had to do to save Sam, she must make a choice that will change all their lives forever.
About the author:
1.)Tell us something about yourself.
I’m a former language arts teacher turned writer and freelance editor. I’m also the mother of an adorable seven-year-old girl who loves to read and write as much as her mother does. 😉
2.) What inspired you to write ‘The Monster Within’?
When I was writing the Touch of Death series, the zombie scenes really made me want to explore what it would be like to come back from the dead. I didn’t want my character to be a zombie though, so I decided to put a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde spin on returning from the dead. Sam looks normal on the outside, nothing like a zombie or anything, but she has a Hyde side that takes over and turns her into a killer.
3.) If you could be a character in your own book who will you be ?
This is tough because while I wouldn’t want all the problems Sam has to deal with in The Monster Within, she has Ethan for a boyfriend and he’s like the perfect guy. I just might have to choose her.
4.) What is your favorite book ?
Percy Jackson and the Titan’s Curse had me from the very first line.
5.) Why ?
Rick Riordan has a way with words. Between the great opening paragraph and the action scenes, I could read Titan’s Curse every day. I actually have sticky notes all over the book so I can reread my favorite passages whenever I need a little inspiration.
6.) What do you think about ROMANIA ?
I’ve never been to Romania, but from the pictures I’ve seen, it looks beautiful. Also, some of my favorite bloggers are from Romania. You guys are just awesome and so supportive.
7.) What are your plans for 2014?
I have five books releasing this year, so I’m busy with revisions, promotion, and drafting sequels. 2014 is definitely going to be a great year.
8.) What do you think about Game Of Thrones? What about American Horror Story?
I’m almost embarrassed to admit I haven’t seen either. I’m dying to watch American Horror Story, but I find I don’t have much free time these days because I’m writing books. 😉 I’ll definitely watch AHS when I get time though.
9.) Tell us something that the rest of your readers don`t know about the book.
There are quite a few scenes that take place in bathrooms, which I find kind of interesting in hindsight. Also, there’s a mystery in this story, so readers will have to follow the clues and try to figure out the ending.
10.)What do you think about paranormal books ?
Paranormal books are awesome because they let you step out of the real world and exist in a place where people are extraordinary. To me it’s like real life, only better.
11.) What do you think about my blog ? 🙂
I love your blog header! I couldn’t figure out how to translate your blog, so I can’t actually read your posts, but I like how you have images and video clips throughout. It really makes your blog visually appealing.
12.) Do you have a message for my blog`s followers ? 🙂
Thank you so much for reading this interview and learning a little about me and my work. The Monster Within releases on June 17th and I hope you’ll check out Sam and Ethan’s story.
